“Destroying the Myths” about sexual abuse is the theme of the 33rd annual Take Back the Night observance at Fresno State.

The free, public event begins at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17, in the Free Speech Area, with information available at tables.

The program begins at 6 p.m. with speakers, a candlelight vigil and march through the campus and an open mic opportunity. The event of the Fresno State campus and under sponsorship of the university’s Women’s Alliance and Women’s Resource Center.

Take Back the Night is an international movement designed to raise awareness of domestic and sexual violence, as well as other forms of violence.

A preview of the event will occur at noon Oct. 17 in the Free Speech Area.
