Twenty Fresno State Theatre Arts students are competing in the regional Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival in Los Angeles this week. Under the direction of Brad Meyers, Theatre Arts professor, they are participating in preliminary rounds today (Feb. 12) with more than 500 nominees and their partners. Semi-finals will be Friday. Started in 1969 by Roger L. Stevens, the Kennedy Center’s founding chairman, the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (KCACTF) is a national theater program involving 18,000 students from colleges and universities. Eight regional festivals are held throughout the country during January and February befpre the Kennedy Center National Festival April 14-19 in Washington, D.C.
