More than 30 Fresno State entrepreneurial students will present their businesses to a panel of judges and the public as part of the 157 Entrepreneurship Expo from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday, May 10, at the University Business Center on campus.
The free, public event, which is now in its third year, is sponsored by the Lyles Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Fresno State.
With the help of seniors in the Art and Design Department, the budding entrepreneurs have developed branding and marketing materials to showcase their business concepts at the event.
Participants at the expo are students of the Entrepreneurship 157 course (New Venture Laboratory) taught by Nelson Sebra, entrepreneur in residence at the Lyles Center. Sebra created the event in 2014 to provide students with the opportunity to market their businesses at a trade show.
“This event not only allows students to apply what they’ve learned in a real-life situation, but it encourages wonderful collaboration among students from different majors,” said Dr. Scott Moore, interim executive director of the Lyles Center. “We are proud to sponsor this event.”
Each student recorded video pitches for their business ideas. The videos will play throughout the expo in the theater adjacent to the Gottschalks Gallery at the University Business Center.
