The Central Valley Venture Forum, which brings together financial leaders to discuss current economic issues and opportunity for growth, is seeking applicants for its annual Valley Entrepreneur Showcase. The competition features five new or early-stage businesses that will pitch to a panel of investors to compete for Best in Show.

Ventures looking to raise capital can apply at ValleyVentureForum.com. Applications are open through Sept. 30.

The forum will be from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Nov. 3 at the Clovis Memorial District Auditorium. Venture capitalists, angel investors, leading startups, corporate executives and community leaders will make up the day-long program.

“The showcase is a great opportunity for new businesses to reach potential investors and perfect their pitches,” said Dr. Robert Harper, dean of the Craig School of Business at Fresno State. “Several businesses, including Central Valley favorites P*de*Q and Amalia’s Cocina have won Best of Show, received funding and become the subject of many success stories.”

Central Valley Venture Forum is a collaboration between the Lyles Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Fresno State, the Craig School and the Central Valley Fund.
