Lee Ann Eager, president and CEO of the Fresno County Economic Development Corporation, will speak about her research on the economic impact of high-speed rail on Friday, Oct. 21 at the Henry Madden Library.

A reception with hors d’oeuvres and a no-host beer and wine bar will begin at 6 p.m. with the program to follow at 6:45 p.m. RSVP at www.fresnostate.edu/libraryrsvp (enter code LIBHSR). The free, public event is hosted by Friends of the Madden Library.

The California High Speed Rail Project is the largest infrastructure project in the Central Valley and Fresno. In preparation for her organization’s role in assisting local businesses, farmers and residents affected by the High Speed Rail Project, Eager researched and toured similar international projects. She will share information on these projects as well as local construction developments and the economic impact of the California project.

Eager’s responsibilities include oversight of business expansion, attraction and retention. Eager is also the legislative liaison with local, state and federal legislators on issues important to economic development, including high-speed rail.
