Fresno State President Joseph I. Castro was appointed to fill a vacancy on the WASC Senior College and University Commission, a regional accrediting agency serving a diverse membership of public and private higher education institutions throughout California, Hawaii and the Pacific, as well as a limited number of institutions outside the U.S. Castro is the first Central Valley native to serve in this leadership position. Commissioners work actively to assure institutional quality, accountability and transparency in service of meaningful educational outcomes for students, said WSCUC President Jamienne S. Studley.
