Join the San Joaquin Valley Writing Project and Porterville College for the second week of the Porterville Summer Writing Academy from Monday, July 29, to Thursday, Aug. 1.
Approximately 30 seventh- through 12th-grade students from the Porterville area will learn argumentative writing techniques from local teachers who have spent the past week learning from Writing Project teacher leaders. These local teachers have been developing their expertise to teach argumentative writing and will use what they learned while helping students develop as writers.
The Porterville Summer Writing Academy will last four days at Porterville College’s Computer Commons A in the Center LRC Building. Students and teachers will be at the workshop from 9 a.m. to noon, and the teachers will stay and debrief until 4 p.m.
