The Fresno State Parent University program will host a graduation for 111 Madera Unified digital literacy participants at 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21, at the Virginia Lee Rose Elementary multi-purpose room. James Monroe, Virginia Lee Rose, George Washington and Sierra Vista Elementary schools enrolled in the fall Digital Literacy I program.

To provide educational opportunities to more parents in the district, the Digital Literacy I course at George Washington Elementary was translated into Triqui, a language of the indigenous people of the western part of the Mexican state of Oaxaca.

The nine-week program helps participants learn the foundational computer skills necessary to help their children to succeed in school. Parent University is administered by the Office of Community and Economic Development at Fresno State. INFO: Ashley Abrahamson at aabrahamson@csufresno.edu
