Acclaimed actor and environmental champion Ed Begley Jr. will be the University Lecture Series featured speaker at California State University,

Fresno on Tuesday, Oct. 13. A respected environmentalist, Begley will lecture in the Satellite Student Union on campus at 7:30 p.m.

Begley recently appeared in David Mamet’s “Cryptogram,” at New York’s Westside Theater and has guest starred on such series as “Roseanne,” “The Drew Carey Show” and “Star Trek.”

More widely known for his successful acting career on television and in films, Begley is best known for his portrayal of Dr. Victor Ehrlich on the television series “St. Elsewhere,” which earned him an Emmy nomination during each viewing season.

Begley is the environmental affairs commissioner for the City of Los Angeles and serves on the board of the Santa Monica Mountains

Conservancy. He is also a board member of the Environmental Research.

Foundation, the Coalition for Clean Air and the American Oceans Campaign.

Dedicated to mass transit and alternative transportation, Begley also uses his bicycle or his electric car. His modest home in the San Fernando Valley is powered exclusively by solar energy.
