The Conference on Excellence in Teaching and Learning will be held Friday, Jan. 22, 1999 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the University Business Center at California State University, Fresno.
The conference provides an opportunity for college professors to share new ideas about teaching and learning, said Ethelynda Harding, director of the Center for Enhancement of Teaching and Learning which is co-sponsoring the event with the Office of the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, both at Fresno State.
Although intended primarily for university and community college faculty and professional staff, as well as Fresno State students, the conference is open to the public, Harding said.
Raymond P. Perry, professor of Psychology and Director of Research for the Center for Higher Education Research and Development at the University of Manitoba, will be the keynote presenter.
Carlos Muller, professor and director of the Fresno State Enology Program and recipient of the Provost’s Award for Excellence in Teaching, will give the closing presentation.
The Center for Enhancement of Teaching and Learning administers in-house funding programs to enhance faculty careers; provides special programs to support faculty in their various roles; and maintains a resource area with books and videotapes on teaching, learning, and other aspects of academe.
