A join effort with local school districts, TIP helps school districts with teacher shortages by providing them student interns who are working to complete their teaching requirements in credential programs.

The interns, who generally have experience in a classroom setting as aides or are individuals pursing a second career, are seeking Multiple Subject (Elementary CLAD/BCLAD) emphasis or a Single Subject (Secondary) teaching credentials.

Candidates are hired by school districts at a modestly reduced salary and are supported by on-site cooperating teachers and supervised by faculty.
