Dr. George B. Kauffman, emeritus professor of chemistry at California State University, Fresno, last month published his 1,500th article, “Emil Votocek (1872¬1950): A Tribute to the Czech Chemist-Composer-Lexicographer.” The article appeared in the April issue of the Journal of Chemical Education.

Votocek was a chemistry professor at the Czech Technical University at Prague (1905-1939) and the cofounder and coeditor of the journal Collection of Czechoslovak Chemical Communications.

Dr. Kauffman is the author or editor of 17 books and is a contributing editor for the Journal of Chemical Education as well as seven other journals.
