Ed Graveline, vice chairman of the California High Speed Rail Authority, will critique the progress of the high-speed train plan to connect Los Angeles to the Bay area via the Central Valley at the 4th annual Real Estate & Economics Forum ’99 on Tuesday, June 29, at California State University, Fresno.
The forum, scheduled from 8 a.m. to noon in the University Business Center, is
presented by the Real Estate & Land Use Institute of the Sid Craig School of Business.
Graveline will be joined by Jeanette A. Garretty, senior economist for Bank of America, who will offer a mid-year review and forecast of the 1999 economy just as the Fed meets to discuss the future of interest rates next week; and Stephen D. Roath, president of Longs Drug Stores, who will assess the future of retailing among national drug chain stores operating in Northern California.
Other speakers will include Dennes B. Coombs, president of Coombs, Inc.; and Scott N. Britton, vice president of Meridian Pacific, Ltd.; Charles L. Tingey, chairman of the Colliers Tingey International; Thomas S. Anderson, president of Commercial Retail Associates; Robert L. Wood, president of Cornerstone Enterprises, Inc.; and Patrick J. Conner, vice president of London Properties, Ltd.
“This forum offers a mid-year review and forecast of the economy by prominent industry leaders with particular focus on local, state, and national real estate markets,” said John P. Mahoney, the institute’s director of development.
The Real Estate & Land Use Institute “brings together prominent speakers from the field of real estate and economics in an accelerated half-day forum to enlighten, motivate and challenge the student, business and professional community,” said Mahoney.
The institute was established in 1995 as a resource center for ongoing research, information and education on real estate issues and activities affecting the greater Fresno metropolitan area.
