Tuesday, Sept. 5 is the reservation deadline for the “Lil’ ol’ Party in Pasadena II” tailgate that will entertain thousands of Red Wavers on Sept. 9 when the Bulldogs take on the UCLA Bruins in the Rose Bowl.

The event, sponsored by the California State University, Fresno Alumni Association, will include a Brookside barbecue lunch with two drinks and will feature the Fresno State Marching Band, cheerleaders and Time Out. Co-sponsoring the event are the Athletics Department and the University Student Union.

Tickets for the tailgate are $20 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under. Reserved tickets for the game are $20. Tour buses from Fresno will be available and Pasadena area hotels are offering group rates.

For tailgate tickets, call the Alumni Association at (559) 278-2586 or (888) 437-8364.

“This is a big game against a Pac-10 team and we want to attract as many of our Bulldog alumni and friends who live in Southern California as we can,” said Jacquelyn Glasener, executive director of the Fresno State Alumni Association.

She said that last year, more than 1,000 Red Wavers attended the UCLA tailgate in its inaugural year.

“We will see a good showing from valley fans but we want our Los Angeles area alumni to join us also for a big presence against the Bruins as well as to support the Alumni Association,” Glasener said.

A mail-out went to southern state alumni recently and Glasener urged local fans to buy their tailgate tickets before they sell out.
