Robert (Mike) Patton, president and owner of Patton Air Conditioning, has been named to the University Advisory Board at California State University, Fresno, announced President John Welty.

Patton has served as president since 1984 of the 82-year-old corporation, which has encompassed three generations. Patton Air Conditioning serves all of California and certain areas of Nevada.

He is also involved in the community by participating in the Fresno Business Council, the Fresno Historical Society, FresPac and the Fresno Metropolitan Museum.

Patton earned a bachelor’s degree in engineering and a Masters in Business at Fresno State. He still stays active as an alumnus in his fraternity, Sigma Chi.

President Welty expressed his appreciation to two former board members who served two consecutive terms each: Angie Rios, owner of the Rios Company, and Kay Campbell.

Advisory board members are appointed for a four-year term and may be reappointed for an additional four years. The board meets four times per year and serves in an advisory capacity to the university president.

The 12-member University Advisory Board is chaired by John Boogaert, CEO of Panagraph Marketing Solutions, and the vice chair is Richard Spencer of Spencer Enterprises.

Other board members are: Jeanne Adams, Elaine Bernard, Julia Brown, Jeannette Ishii, Hugo Morales, James Shekoyan, Joe Williams and Donald Wilson.
