More than 130 people from throughout the Western United States and Korea are attending “Working at the Watershed Level,” a conference Jan. 22-26 at California State University, Fresno.
Attendees include representatives from state and federal agencies, conservation groups, resource conservation districts and students.
A variety of workshops and field trips to the Oakhurst Parkway and San Joaquin River Parkway are designed to give participants background they need to undertake restoration projects of rivers, streams and wetlands, said conference coordinator Roland H. Brady III, a Fresno State Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences professor.
Brady said conference funding of $65,000 came from four agencies – the state Department of Water Resources, state Department of Fish and Game, U.S. Bureau of Reclamation and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
