KGPE TV Ch. 47 announced tentative airdates today for four CBS Early Morning shots featuring California State University, Fresno that were taped recently on campus along with several other area locations including the Chaffee Zoo at Roeding Park. The zoo will be the first Fresno tape to air tomorrow (July 3), said KGPE producer Jill Blevins.

The first Fresno State “bumper” is scheduled for Tuesday, July 10, with Equestrian team coach Megan McGee at approximately 8:52 a.m. On Monday, July 16, Bulldog men’s basketball coach Jerry Tarkanian will be featured followed on Thursday, July 19, by football coach Pat Hill and on Monday, July 23, with President John D. Welty.

The university was among several local spots picked for the national show taping on June 20. Fresno State’s were taped in front of the Memorial Fountain and, in president Welty’s spot, features several Fresno State employees and students sending a Fresno hello to CBS Early Morning host Bryant Gumbel.

Blevins said the other Fresno scenes will be aired on the CBS show, although only two were announced for now: the Chaffee Zoo will kick off the first of the Fresno cut-ins tomorrow (July 3). On Friday July 20, the Meux Home Museum will be featured. The other Fresno scenes taped were the California Raisin Board with the Dancing Raisins, the African American Museum and the Artes Americas gallery. Those airdates will be announced later Blevins said.

All dates are subject to change, Blevins said. The Early Show airs intermittently with KGPE’s “47 This Morning” show from 5 to 8 a.m. and then runs for a full hour at 8 a.m.
