The 2004 Mid-Winter FFA State Finals will be held on Saturday, Feb. 7, at California State University, Fresno from 8 a.m. to about noon.

Organizers expect 130 FFA members from throughout the state to participate in the career development event sponsored by Fresno State’s College of Agricultural Sciences and Technology.

FFA members will compete for State Finals titles at the individual and team level during the annual State Finals Contest that will be held on the university’s Farm Laboratory. The awards ceremony will take place in the Ag Science Pavilion on Barstow and Woodrow at 4 or when results are tabulated p.m.

The College of Agricultural Sciences and Technology and the FFA Field Day student committee hosts 18 state FFA finals contests annually. Approximately 3,000 students attend these events each year.

FFA is a national youth organization of 457,278 student members with 57,000 located in California, where they are preparing for leadership and careers in the fields of agricultural science, business and technology.
