The California State University Board of Trustees will hold its March meeting at Fresno State on Tuesday (1-5 p.m.) and Wednesday (8:30 a.m. to Noon). The trustees normally meet at CSU headquarters in Long Beach and travel to one campus each year for a meeting.

The Board will meet in the Save Mart Center. The press room will open at Noon on Tuesday and at 8 a.m. on Wednesday. There will be a media check-in table in the northwest lobby.

The agenda is posted at http://www.calstate.edu/BOT/agendas/. Among the items are:

• 2004-05 budget update and discussion of long-term student fee policy (Tuesday, 3 p.m.).

• Lt. Gov. Cruz Bustamante, an ex-officio member of the Board of Trustees, is expected to attend Tuesday’s session.

• State Superintendent of Public Instruction Jack O’Connell will be addressing the Board on the “State of Education in California” at 1 p.m. Tuesday.

• Report on CSU Teacher Preparation (Wednesday, 8:30 a.m.).

Also, the California Faculty Association will hold a press conference Wednesday at the conclusion of the Trustees’ meeting (approx. 12:15 p.m.) in the Media Interview Room.
