Preview Day 2004 will be held at California State University, Fresno on Saturday, March 27, from 8:45 a.m. to 2 p.m. to provide applicants for the fall 2004 semester an opportunity to interact with faculty in a simulated classroom setting.

Sponsored by University Outreach Services, Preview Day will include academic workshops and information on such topics as financial aid, career services and housing.

Registration will be held at the North Gym (5305 N. Campus Drive). However, pre-registration is recommended and is now available at www.gotofresnostate.com.

Lupe Maldonado, outreach counselor and the event’s coordinator, said the university is offering a unique experience for high school and community college transfer students to come and participate in a classroom setting that will be similar to what they will have as full time students.

“By participating in Preview Day 2004, students will be able to interact with faculty who will teach courses within their majors,” Maldonado said. “Preview Day is designed to give you a closer look at our faculty and facilities. It’s an opportunity to interact with faculty, ask questions and take a look at the great facilities we have here.”

Maldonado said the Preview Day is a follow-up to University Admissions Day held in October, which targets prospective students.

“Once students have applied, Preview Day is a program that can help them overcome obstacles that may prevent them from taking that last step into college,” Maldonado said.

Academic workshop offerings are scheduled at 10 and 11 a.m. Campus and housing tours also will be available.

A Student Information Faire in the Free Speech Area from noon to 1 p.m will provide prospective students an opportunity to meet with staff from various offices and programs. For more information, call (559) 278-2048.
