Swedish cellist Torleif Thedéen will teach a free masterclass on Thursday, March 11 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Wahlberg Recital Hall at the California State University, Fresno campus.
The event, which is hosted by the university’s Department of Music, is free and open to the public.
Thedéen has won three of the most important international cello competitions. He has recorded extensively for the BIS label and has performed as a soloist with orchestras in Berlin, Amsterdam, Brussels, Prague, Oslo, Stockholm, Helsinki, Copenhagen, and Moscow. In 1992, he was appointed Professor at the Royal Conservatoire of Copenhagen and since 1996, he has been a professor at the Stockholm Edsberg Musikinstitut.
