Making a hole in one will win a 2004 X3 Weber BMW at the 3rd Annual Alumni Chapter Golf Tournament on Friday April 16, that will benefit the Rick Husband Memorial Alumni Scholarship Fund in Fresno State’s College of Engineering and Computer Science.

The tournament will be held at the Riverside Golf Course (Herndon and Highway 99) from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The fund was established in honor of the late Col. Rick Husband, Fresno State alumnus who was the mission commander of the space shuttle Columbia which crashed on Feb. 1 last year, killing its entire crew.

The event is hosted by the Alumni Chapter of the College of Engineering and Computer Science and sponsored by Twining Laboratories and Weber BMW along with FM radio station Y 101.1.

The day begins with check-in followed by the shotgun start at noon. The 19th Hole Awards Ceremony sponsored by E & J Gallo Winery will be held at 6 p.m.

The costs for participation in the tournament are $85 per person and $340 for four people and will include the green fee, cart, tea bag and box lunch provided at check- in.

Dana Lucka, director of development for the College of Engineering and Computer Science, emphasized the importance of the scholarships to the academic future of the students and urged sponsors to support the scholarship.

The installation of a plaque in the engineering building on campus in memory of Col. Husband is planned for the fall, Lucka said.
