On April 25, university Winemaster Kenneth Fugelsang received fourteen awards on behalf of the Fresno State Winery at the Jerry Mead New World International Wine Extravaganza, Gold Medal Showcase and Auction in Ontario. The awards were originally announced in February but they were actually presented last week. On Friday, Fresno State’s wine students will bring the medals home and symbolically present them to the university as another example of academic excellence in the Viticulture and Enology Research Center of the College of Agricultural Sciences and Technology.
