The Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco will hold seminars at Fresno State for high school economics teachers and college students on Tuesday and Wednesday, April 13 and 14.

On Tuesday, the Federal Reserve Bank and the Fresno State Center for Economic Education will be educating high school economics teachers on how the reserve bank functions, curriculum relating to the Federal Reserve, monetary policy, Fresno State’s economic education program and counterfeit currency. The seminar will meet in the University Business Center, room 194, from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

On Wednesday, Fresno State students will learn about the Fed’s purposes and functions, financial services and payment systems, and banking conditions and trends. Students also will get a behind-the-scenes look at a Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meeting and will participate in a simulation of an FOMC meeting. This portion of the seminar will be held in the Smittcamp Alumni House from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
