Students, teachers and FFA alumni from across the Golden State are coming together April 15 through April 20 for the 76th annual State FFA Conference at the Fresno Convention Center and California State University, Fresno.

They will compete in leadership contests, listen to motivational speakers, conduct business and meet other FFA members from around the state.

Special events planned include addresses by motivational speaker Sam Glenn and National FFA President Javier Moreno a native of Puerto Rico attending Penn State. Students will also participate in agricultural industry tours, leadership workshops and competitions.

The conference will culminate with the election of the 2004-2005 state officers, a group of highly

motivated students, chosen by their peers who will postpone a year of college to lead the organization.

The National FFA Organization, or FFA as it is more commonly known, is a youth organization of 461,043 high school students located in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.

FFA strives to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agriculture education.
