Demolition of the Lab School wing damaged by a fire last September will begin today, June 18, and work should be completed by Sunday evening.

Foot and vehicle traffic will be restricted in the area near Keats and Jackson avenues on the south central side of campus during the work.

After the wing and debris are removed, the site will be prepared for construction of a 5,700-square-foot modular building. Its installation will begin following settlement with the insurance provider and should be complete by November.

The arson-caused fire on Sept. 8, 2003 destroyed the north wing of the Lab School complex. Four classrooms and 12 offices were displaced by the loss.
