The works of seven California State University, Fresno students who are art majors are on display now through June 27 at the Fresno Metropolitan Museum.

The exhibition is the culmination of the second bi-annual Artists-in-Residence Program, a joint project of the museum and the Department of Art and Design at Fresno State.

The program allows the students to work in a space provided by the museum throughout the year and show their work in the museum at the conclusion of the year. The students also participate in educational programs at the Met.

The student artists are Aurora Armijo, Leslie Batty, Eric Bodiroga, Gerone Blomgren, Laura Goldstone, Terry Kidwell, and Dustin Scharnick. The exhibition of their work, exhibited in the Lyles Theater at the Met, is titled “Resurgence.”

“My experience at the Met has given me the opportunity to figure out exactly what I need to produce work of a professional quality,” saidArmijo.

Art and Design Department professors Nick Potter and Dan Nadaner are the faculty supervisors. The coordinator at the Met is Diadre Metzler. The exhibition was curated by Susanneh Bieber.
