Stacy Johnson-Klein and her attorney formally notified California State University, Fresno yesterday, Wednesday, March 9, that she has accepted the sanction of termination as provided in the notice of discipline President John D. Welty issued on March 2.

Pursuant to Article 19.6 of the collective bargaining agreement that applies to Johnson-Klein, her acceptance means the disciplinary sanction is to be imposed, but does not constitute an admission to the allegations of misconduct.

Consequently, Johnson-Klein’s university employment as head coach of the women’s basketball team was formally terminated yesterday based on findings of a three-week administrative review into a series of allegations from team members and staff. (See original statement on the notice of intent to terminate posted March 2 on www.FresnoStateNews.com).

Her decision to accept the termination of her employment ends the pre-termination Skelly Review process that was under way, as well as any other administrative appeal process.
