Rebecca Ryan, founder of Next Generation Consulting, will speak on “Hot Jobs, Cool

Communities” at the New Valley InForum program on April 21 at 6:30 p.m. at the Crest Theatre, 1170 Broadway in downtown Fresno. A VIP reception will follow.

Ryan’s appearance is the last of three speakers in the InForum series sponsored by the Lyles Center for Entrepreneurship. Her topics will include “reverse the brain-drain,” “is Fresno ready to be hip?” and “creating a city where you and your children will choose to live.”

Next Generation Consulting is a research and consulting firm that studies Americans’ work and life trends. Ryan is also the publisher of the “Hot Jobs, Cool Communities” Report.

She has been named a “Woman of Influence” by the Business Journal, the 2004 Entrepreneur of the Year by the US Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship, and was a semi-finalist in Fast Company Magazine’s “Fast 50” awards.

A former professional basketball player in Europe, Ryan has degrees in economics and international relations from Drake University.
