Students on the staff of California State University, Fresno’s campus newspaper, The Collegian, were recognized with eight awards from the California College Media Association in competition among 22 colleges and universities.

The Collegian, published three times each week during the academic year, won first-place awards in all three Web categories – multimedia, interactivity and general excellence.

Cited for their contributions in the winning efforts are Bryan Harley of Fresno, webmaster; Joseph Hollak of Clovis, multimedia editor; and Virginia Sellars-Erxleben,, the business manager and Web site adviser.

Other association individual awards went to Angela Lorona of Fresno, the former art director for advertising, first place for Best Infographic; Darrell Copeland of Fresno, sports editor, second place for Best Headline Portfolio and third place in Best Special Section; and Andrew Riggs of Fresno, former Collegian photo editor, second place in Best Sports Photograph competition and third place in Best Feature Photograph.
