Few know barbecue better than the men and women involved in agriculture. That’s why the Ag Boosters Barbecue has been a success since 1977.

The annual event is sponsored by the Ag One Foundation at Fresno State and California Women for Agriculture. This year’s 30th annual celebration is scheduled for 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 9 at Rancho Vista Del Rio (Borba Ranch) in Madera. The ranch is located at the San Joaquin River and Highway 99. Dinner will be served at 5:30 p.m.

In addition to a great barbecue, festivities will include music by the Fresno State student jazz band. There will be samples of Fresno State sausage, olive oil and grapes, and Valley dairy processors will offer some of their cheeses for tasting. In addition, the Country Store will feature handmade arts, crafts and baked goods. There also will be silent and live auctions, raffles and prizes.

Until Aug. 31, ticket prices are $50 for an individual and $450 for a table of 10, and then the price will rise to $60 for an individual and $550 for a table.
