We can’t predict what the weather will be like tomorrow, perhaps, but we can predict serious heat around California State University, Fresno that should peak on Oct. 20.

That’s the university’s Homecoming football showdown against longtime rival San Jose State. And to get ready for the big game, there will be more than week’s worth of activities built around the theme “Bulldog Blaze: The heat is on.”

That’s why chile-eating and salsa-recipe contests are among the on-campus events the week of the game. And there are plenty of other activities – on and off campus – to promote spirit among students, faculty, staff, alumni and the community.

Before the 2 p.m. kickoff for the game in Bulldog Stadium, there will be alumni chapter reunions, student competitions, music, wine tastings and the Top Dog Alumni Award Gala, one of the university’s premier social events.
