The Lyles Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship is offering eight $5,000 scholarships to high school and community college students planning to attend California State University, Fresno.

Applications are due April 1.

The Scholarships in Entrepreneurship program, which began in spring 2007, brings students from across the country to Fresno to learn how to be entrepreneurial in the Central Valley. The scholarship requires students to be in high school or community college and have either a current operating business plan or intend to have a business in the Fresno area. In addition, students must also qualify for acceptance and meet admission deadlines into California State University, Fresno.

As many as eight students will receive $5,000 to support their education and expand their business while attending school. They also will be provided office space in the Lyles Center’s “Hatchery,” an area designed to support student businesses through mentoring and coaching.

More information and applications for the scholarship are available at http://www.lylescenter.com/scholarships_in_entrepreneurship.php.
