Fresno State student Jeffrey Phillips captured 1st place and Viewer’s Choice Award in the 2008 “I am Fresno State!” student video competition. Videos of winning entries are available for viewing on the free, online video sharing platform YouTube at

The second annual video contest is a component of the Website, www.iamfresnostate.com <http://www.iamfresnostate.com/> , which serves as an online portal to connect and interconnect Fresno State students, faculty and staff; as well as future students, alumni and friends.

Additional 2008 winners were: second place, Kylee Jepsen; third place, Anderson Kith; and two honorable mentions, Paul Yunoute and Winston Chen.

The “I am Fresno State!” project recently won an Award of Merit from the Public Relations Society of America (Central Valley Chapter), as well as a Gold Addy Award from the Fresno Advertising Federation. In December, the project won a Gold and Silver awards from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (District VII) .

Also, by utilizing the free, online social networking platform, MySpace, members Fresno State’s extended family are successfully connecting with each other from throughout the nation and the four corners of the globe.
