Six marketing students in the Sid Craig School of Business at California State University, Fresno State hope to set a Guinness World Record for the world’s largest milk carton. An official “unveiling” of the 15-foot, 7-inch milk carton will take place next to the Shehadey Tower at the southeast corner of the Save Mart Center at noon on Thursday, May 15.

The record attempt is part of Dr. Bill Rice’s strategic marketing class, where students Frankie Trovao, Ryan McKinley, Annie Rosengarten, Sam Nagra, Shoua Lee and Daniel Tiscareno worked as a team to break a world record that incorporated the agriculture of the San Joaquin Valley. The giant milk carton is modeled after a Producers Dairy milk carton and took the students two months to plan and build.

A donation of milk equal in volume to the giant carton will be made on behalf of Richie Shehadey, marketing director for Producers, to benefit the charities throughout the community. The charities are Evangel Home shelter for women and children in Fresno, Fresno Rescue Mission, Poverello House and Clovis/Fresno Salvation Army.

The Shehadey Tower is named for Larry Shehadey, patriarch of Producers Dairy Foods, a well-known and respected Fresno-based business. In 2002, Shehadey donated $3 million to the Save Mart Center.
