The 51st annual state finals cotton judging contest will be held 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, Nov. 1, on the California State University, Fresno campus.

The event concludes at 1 p.m. with awards.

About 100 FFA members will participate for individual and team titles in the career-development.

FFA is a national youth organization of 490,000 student members across the nation, 64,000 in California. The students are preparing for leadership careers in agriculture science, business and technology. FFA strives to enhance leadership potential, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.

The event is hosted by the College of Agricultural Sciences and Technology at Fresno State. The college and FFA Field Day Committee host more than 20 state finals competitions each year, attracting about 2,500 students.
