The Institute for Family Business at California State University, Fresno is calling for nominations of family-owned businesses to be considered for the 2009 California Family Business of the Year Award. The deadline for nominations is Oct. 17.

Individuals are encouraged to submit nominations for family owned businesses they feel have gained success. The Institute for Family Business (IBF) award committee will interview nominees at their locations from Oct. 27 to Nov. 7.

In addition to the top business award, the committee will select an individual for a Lifetime Achievement Award. The award has been presented only once in the Institute of Family Business’ 20-year history.

The awards will be presented Jan. 15, 2009, at the institute’s 20th anniversary celebration.

In 2008, the IFB honored Wonder Valley Ranch Resort, A & M Flooring America, Data-Central Collection Bureau, Dos Palos Y Auction Yard, Fernandes Farms, Inc., Glick’s Old Fashion Meats, James G. Parker Insurance Associates, Management Recruiters of Fresno, San Joaquin Valley College and Schuil & Associates Diversified Real Estate.
