The College of Engineering at California State University, Fresno will have an open house for prospective students and their families on Saturday, Nov. 8, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. High school and community college students, parents, teachers, counselors and the public also are invited.
Attendees will get a chance to learn about Fresno State’s six nationally accredited Bachelor of Science degree programs in civil engineering, computer engineering, construction management, electrical engineering, geomatics engineering and mechanical engineering. There also will be information on the College of Engineering’s Honors Program, scholarships, industry internships, and its comprehensive student services program.
The free open house will provide visitors an interactive experience, from earthquake simulators and GPS mapping, Formula One cars to laser-based communications and sensor networks to construction management bidding process. There also will be hands-on exhibits, laboratory tours, workshops and industry panels from each of the college’s programs.
Tours of the departments and laboratories will start at 10:30 a.m. College of Engineering students, faculty, staff and professionals from industry will be available to answer questions throughout the event.
Parking is free in Lot Q on Barstow Avenue.

California State University, Fresno’s College of Engineering, the oldest publicly supported engineering college in the San Joaquin Valle, has been offering engineering courses and programs since the 1920s.
