Rebecca BrownWriter Rebecca Brown will read from her work at 6:30 p.m. today, July 22, at the Conley Lecture Hall in the Phebe Conley Art Building at California State University, Fresno.

Brown, who has written 13 books, is a master teacher in the Writing Narratives class that is part of the CSU Summer Arts program on campus. The program, created by California State University 24 summers ago, matches students with accomplished artist-instructors in two-week courses that culminate with student presentations and performances.

The first of those culminations in the current session will be at 8 p.m. in the John Wright Theatre of the Fresno State Speech Arts Building: a concert by singing-acting students.

Tickets to Brown’s reading are $7-$10 and are available noon-6 p.m. Monday-Friday and 1-5 p.m. Saturday-Sunday at the Fresno State Box Office in Speech Arts, online at www.csusummerarts.org or by phone at 559.278.5109.

There is no charge to attend culminations, which also are open to the public.
