For the fourth consecutive year, California State University, Fresno will host the Hispanic Youth Symposium. It will be held July 28-31.

The Hispanic College Fund is partnering with the Central Valley Higher Education Consortium (CVHEC) to bring the Hispanic Youth Symposium to California’s Central Valley. One hundred fifty high school students from Stockton to Bakersfield and more than 100 community volunteers will be on the Fresno State campus for a four-day, three-night program that gives the students the opportunity to:

*

develop a network of peers and mentors

*

learn about resources and tools for college

*

develop a long-term career vision

Competitions will be held for $2,000, $1,000, and $500 scholarships in art, speech, talent and essay categories.

Central Valley colleges are partnering for the symposium as part of the California Partnership for the San Joaquin Valley’s Higher Education Work Group.
