Poet and novelist Robert Glück will read from his work at 7 p.m. today, July 20, at the John Wright Theatre in the California State University, Fresno Speech Arts Building as part of CSU Summer Arts’ 2009 public performance schedule.

Glück has written nine books of poetry and fiction, including the novels “Margery Kempe” and “Jack the Modernist.” He lives in San Francisco and teaches at San Francisco State University, where he is an editor of the online journal Narrativity.

Tickets are $7-10 and can be purchased noon-6 p.m. Monday-Friday and 1-5 p.m. Saturday-Sunday at the Fresno State Box Office in the Speech Arts Building, online at www.csusummerarts.org or by phone at 559.278.5109.

Glück is one of the master teacher-artists in the narrative writing course offered by CSU Summer Arts, part of a series of classes taught by performers and artists who also participate in public presentations and performances. The California State University system summer program is in its 24th season overall and 11th straight at Fresno State.
