Five Fresno State student-athletes – a larger number than any other university in the United States – won places on the 2009 Academic AAll-District 8 team announced by the College Sports Information Directors Association.

Seniors Moses Harris and Robert Malone, juniors Vince Pascoe and Andrew Jackson and sophomore Kevin Goessling were on the district team, which includes schools throughout the West. It’s the second straight selection for Pascoe, who maintains a perfect 4.0 GPA in mechanical engineering.

They will be placed on the national ballot for the Academic All-America team.

Penn State placed four players on its district team, second-most after Fresno State.
