Zimbra Update 5 p.m.

The e-mail system for students and CVIP customers is back up. The Zimbra system for faculty and staff is available and ITS continues to work with the vendor on stability and performance.

Zimbra Update 12 – 1 p.m.

The e-mail system for students and CVIP customers is down. ITS estimates this system will be available early Saturday morning. The Zimbra system for faculty and staff is currently available. ITS staff, with assistance from vendors, have worked through the night to provide stability for our Zimbra system. While we have made progress, we do not have a high level of confidence that the system will remain stable throughout the day. Updates will be posted on the hour at help.csufresno.edu and fresnostatenews.com.

Zimbra Update 8 a.m.

ITS staff, Zimbra engineers and our storage vendor worked through the night (Thursday, Nov. 13) to restore stability to our e-mail and calendaring service. Zimbra engineers identified a problem, caused by the many outages we have had since October 28, with a “corrupted” account. After disabling that account, the system has been stable.

We do not know if this stability will continue once users begin to use the system this morning. We also have been working with our storage vendor to install new capabilities, and we will work through the weekend to create a stable environment for Monday morning.

As part of our Zimbra issues, we are experiencing delays sending e-mail to external addresses. Receiving e-mail and sending to internal users are working. No e-mail messages have been lost. We will continue our efforts to restore full functionality and will also be working on alternatives for e-mail through the weekend.

We appreciate your patience as we continue to work through these issues. In an additional development, due to hardware issues, student e-mail service is temporarily unavailable. Service should be available by 11 p.m. or sooner.

In an unrelated issue, hardware problems continue to interrupt student e-mail. It is estimated student e-mail service will be restored by noon today.
