California State University, Fresno’s 90.7 KFSR radio presents Garrison Keillor’s “A Prairie Home Companion, LIVE in HD” in a special cinecast at 8 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 4, at the River Park shopping center’s Edwards Theaters.

It’s part of a nationwide broadcast of “Prairie Home” to more than 500 theaters from the stage of the Fitzgerald Theatre in St. Paul, Minn., featuring special guests including Elvis Costello.

“A Prairie Home Companion” has aired for 36 years on radio stations, entertaining listeners with folksy tales of the fictional Lake Wobegon. This is the first live HD cinecast in the program’s history.

Guests who arrive early for the two-hour show will be treated to a special behind-the-scenes “warm-up” broadcast with live footage from backstage in St. Paul, starting about 7:30 p.m.

An encore broadcast is scheduled at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 9.
