FresnoStateNews.com, California State University, Fresno’s prime source of campus news since 1999, launches a new decade with a new look, new features, navigational ease and an invitation for visitors to comment on what’s posted.

To encourage visitors to take advantage of the comment feature, the first 50 people to comment will receive a complimentary FresnoStateNews.com t-shirt.

“FresnoStateNews.com has been a trusted and popular source of news about our university for over 10 years, and we’re happy to now offer site visitors a chance to give us their suggestions and register concerns,” said Shirley Melikian Armbruster, associate vice president for University Communications.

“To encourage feedback, we’re offering the first 50 people who use the new comment utility a t-shirt with our new logo,” Armbruster added.

The redesigned FresnoStateNews.com has been in the works for several months, said Bruce Whitworth, director of Publications and New Media in the Office of University Communications.

“We’ve heard suggestions from visitors about how we could get better,” he added, “and we wanted to incorporate those ideas with new applications, layouts and presentations to increase FresnoStateNews.com value to everyone.”

FresnoStateNews.com, produced by University Communications, provides news about campus events, achievements of students, faculty, staff and alumni, significant research and Fresno State’s connections with the region.

The new FresnoStateNews.com continues to link visitors to the university home page, the Campaign for Fresno State, FresnoState Magazine, influenza and state budget updates, a campus events calendar and photo and video galleries.

Besides FresnoState News.com, University Communications cultivates Fresno State’s online presence on the social networking platforms FacebookTwitterYouTube and LinkedIn.
