Pianist Vahan Mardirossian and cellist Alexander Chaushian will perform at 8 p.m. Feb. 26 at California State University, Fresno in a concert sponsored by the Armenian Studies Program and the Philip Lorenz Memorial Keyboard Concert Series.

The performance at the Concert Hall within the campus Music Building will include works by Debussy, Shostakovich, Franck and Armenian composers.

Mardirossian received critical praise for his recital opening the 2005-06 season of the Keyboard Concerts series, which is based at Fresno State. Born in Yerevan, Armenia, and trained at the Paris Conservatoire, Mardirossian enjoys an international recital career and has recorded works by Schubert, Händel, Brahms, Bach and Eric Tanguy.

London-based Alexander Chaushian is regarded as one of the world’s finest young cellists. He has performed extensively throughout the world with orchestras and as a soloist with the Vienna Chamber Orchestra, London Mozart Players, the Philharmonia Orchestra and the Royal National Orchestra of Belgium.
