The Henry Madden Library and the Fresno Poets’ Association will present an evening of poetry readings by Dixie Salazar and Jon Veinberg at California State University, Fresno.

The event will take place at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 25, at the Table Mountain Rancheria Reading Room on the third floor of the library’s new north wing. There is no charge, but seating is limited.

Salazar has written four books of poetry. Her most recent is “Flamenco Hips and Red Mud Feet.” She also is a visual artist, working primarily in oils, whose work is showcased in the novel “Limbo.” Her Silva Salazar Studio is in Fresno.

Salazar has taught at Fresno State and teaches poetry in prisons.

Veinberg is the author of several poetry collections, including his recent “The Speed Limit of Clouds.” He was co-editor of “Piecework: 19 Fresno Poets”.

He has twice been awarded National Endowment for the Arts grants in poetry. Veinberg’s work also has appeared in numerous literary magazines and anthologies.

The Fresno Poets’ Association is now a formal program of Fresno State in conjunction with the Master of Fine Arts creative writing program.
