The College of Arts and Humanities at California State University, Fresno concludes its Distinguished Alumni Lecture Series for the 2009-10 academic year with a presentation by actress and alumna Emily Kuroda.

Kuroda will speak to students at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 4, in the Speech Arts Building, Room 153.

Kuroda received a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Arts in 1977 before beginning her career as an award-winning television, stage and film actress. She is most recognized for her recurring role as Mrs. Kim on the Warner Bros. TV series “Gilmore Girls.” Kuroda also has appeared in numerous TV shows, movies and plays.

She will detail how her degree from Fresno State laid a foundation for her successful and diverse career in entertainment, and answer questions from students looking to follow her career path.

For her stage work, Kuroda has received five Dramalogue Awards, a Garland Award for outstanding performance, a Playwrights Arena award and the EWP Award for Outstanding Contribution to Los Angeles Theatre.

Fresno State’s College of Arts and Humanities Distinguished Alumni Series invites former students back to campus to speak to students in their field of study. Each lecture is open to the public without charge.
