As Central California’s leading university, access and affordability have been hallmarks of California State University, Fresno for nearly 100 years. Since 1911, we have provided thousands of students – many of them the first in their family to attend college – the opportunity to achieve a college education.
That’s why I am pleased that the Governor recognizes the importance of higher education and has indicated his desire to reinvest in all of California’s public universities and has proposed a constitutional amendment to safeguard California’s higher education.
We at Fresno State join with all California State University campuses in backing our students, faculty, staff and community supporters as they work to bring awareness to the public and elected officials about the positive impact of higher education to our region and the state.
It is my sincere hope that the Governor and Legislature can restore to the California State University the funding needed to maintain the promise of higher education for all Californians, and we look forward to assisting those efforts.
