Bakersfield attorney David Torres, a California State University, Fresno alumnus and former Education Opportunity Program student, is the recipient of the Bench and Bar Award presented by the Kern County Bar Association.
The award, presented at the annual Law Day dinner Thursday, April 29, recognizes a lawyer or judge who renders outstanding service in the administration of justice and brings credit to the legal profession.
Torres, who graduated from Fresno State in 1983, is receiving the award for his many years of service as a lawyer, bar leader and mentor in Kern County. He also returns often to the Fresno State campus for the Chicanos in Law student club.
